During the week I do not eat breakfast properly. In the morning I can only make a cup of coffee and then touch a cereal in the office between 8 and 10 o'clock. This is all but functional and has nothing to do with comfort. Only on the weekend we come to breakfast in peace and comfort. Right with table cover and all the time in the world. Because we are not used to breakfast, we are often already full after a roll, but that's not the point. The thing as such counts. You chat a bit about the past week, look what's up next week, enjoy the fresh coffee and the sunbeams dancing over the dining table. In German: Quality Time. And that's why it's always a bit decadent on the weekend and the breakfast is a bit more opulent. Sometimes I bake fresh pancakes with maple syrup, sometimes crispy waffles.
Or just oven pancakes. They are made fast and straight, when you have breakfast with friends, it is particularly comfortable to have the cast-iron pan in the middle of the dining table, so that everyone can help themselves. Oven pancakes taste delicious dusted with some powdered sugar, (vanilla) cream, fresh fruits like blueberries or strawberries. Ice is always good, especially when it melts slowly in the Kuhle. And real soulfoil is the version I brought with caramelised bananas. What a dream combination!
It's not much work - you can lay the table in peace, while the pancake is sizzling and rising higher and higher in the pan. Just the sight can be terribly relaxing.

Pancake with caramelized banana
for 3-4 servings
For the pancake
150 g of flour , sifted
50 g of sugar
1 pinch of salt
3 eggs - 250 ml of milk and 1 tablespoon of butter
For the caramelized bananas
2-3 ripe bananas
2 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons maple syrup
powdered sugar for dusting
vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional)

In the meantime, make the caramelized bananas. Peel the bananas and cut into slices of about 1 cm.
Heat the butter in a large pan until it is melted and begin to brown, then add the maple syrup.
